Scattered thunderstorms, winds this afternoon

The National Weather Service has issued an advisory for scattered thunderstorms possible this afternoon and evening.

Some of the storms may be severe with a primary threat of damaging winds.

Today: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 5 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms likely before midnight, then a slight chance of showers between midnight and 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. West wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Thursday: A chance of showers between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., then showers and thunderstorms likely after 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 87. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
