A 4-year-old boy drowned on Sunday afternoon in a pool.

State police at Stroudsburg reported troopers were dispatched at 4:18 p.m. to a residence along Sierra Trails Drive, in Price Township, to assist Bushkill EMS for a drowning victim.

Troopers said the child was in a above ground pool in the backyard of the residence.

He was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono Campus, East Stroudsburg, were he was pronounced dead.

The state police criminal investigation unit is in charge of the investigation. An autopsy is pending. The death is currently listed as accidental.
