Two defendants in pending cases entered guilty pleas in Carbon County court recently before Judge Steven R. Serfass.
Thomas Joseph Willis
, 37, of Summit Hill, pleaded to one count each of simple assault and resisting arrest for an incident on Oct. 30, 2019, in Summit Hill.
In exchange for the plea the district attorney’s office dropped felony counts of aggravated assault and strangulation and misdemeanor count of terroristic threats.
The incident was the result of a domestic altercation.
Serfass deferred sentencing and ordered the adult probation office to prepare a presentence investigation report.
Francis W. Chambers
, 32, of Lansford, was placed on probation for 18 months on a charge of delivery of a firearm after criminal check revealed prohibitive.
Chambers was arrested on Aug. 9, 2018, by Lansford police. In exchange for the plea a felony 2 count of possession of a firearm with manufacturer number altered was dropped.
He was also ordered to render 75 hours of community service.
Chambers is currently an inmate in the county prison on a parole violation.
Both defendants must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation.
