Historical society

The Palmerton Area Historical Society will be presenting its July monthly meeting at 6 p.m. July 13 in the Palmerton Borough Park. Please note the time change. The wrong time was in last week’s column. Please bring a lawn chair for social distancing and a mask. The program will be the History and Demonstration of the High Wheel Bicycle by Donald Serfass. Rain date is July 20.

Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Bowmanstown, is now holding one combined service each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. There are three ways of worshipping. Worship in the sanctuary, must wear a mask, have temperature check and social distancing required; you may worship in the parking lot and tune to 104.3; or you may join on Facebook Live.

Every Wednesday at 7 p.m. is “Prayer & Praise Service” with the same three options as Sunday worship. Faith Alive Church is online at faithaliveumc.com and the Pastor is Rob Timlin Sr. Contact the office at 610-852-2805.

Jerusalem UCC

Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville, will be holding Sunday worship services for the summer at 9 a.m. in the church grove, weather permitting. Please bring a lawn chair for social distancing and a face mask is required. The services will also be recorded for viewing on the church website after 11 a.m. for those unable to attend in person. In the case of bad weather the services will be in the church sanctuary, where social distancing and masks will be required.

On Sunday, at 9 a.m. in the grove, the Rev. Dr. Bonnie Bates, the Penn Northeast Conference Minister, will be the guest pastor.

Block shoot

The Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club, 525 Club Road, Palmerton will be holding a Friday Night Block Shoot on July 10. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the shoot starts at 7 p.m. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. The event is open to the public.

Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church

Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 500 Church Drive, Trachsville, will be holding outside worship services every Sunday in July at 9 a.m. in the picnic grove. Please bring a lawn chair and face mask.

Palmerton Pool

The Palmerton Pool will be open from noon to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1-8 p.m. on Sundays for season members only. If you have any questions, please call 610-826-5357 during these hours.

Yard sale

A yard sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 11 at Country Junction, 6565 Interchange Road, Lehighton.

Palmerton Library Teens

An online event, Avengers Digital Escape Room, will be held July 14 from 7-8 p.m. This is hosted by the Palmerton Library Teens. July 16 at 7 p.m. will be Fairy Tale Online Trivia. Call the library at 610-826-3424 for information.
