Pa. reports 634 new virus cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed as of midnight, that there are 634 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 89,375.

There are 6,749 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of three new deaths reported.

Carbon County is reporting two more cases for a total of 286. Deaths remain at 26.

In Lehigh County there are 11 new cases, with a total of 4,303. Deaths remain at 307.

Luzerne County has 11 new cases, for a total of 2,950. Deaths remain at 178.

There are four new cases in Monroe County for a total of 1,434. There are 109 deaths reported.

In Northampton County, there are five more cases reported, bringing the total to 3,463. There are 272 deaths.

Schuylkill County is reporting one additional case, for a total of 754. Deaths remain at 44.

Cases in Allegheny County increased 150 cases overnight.

There are 634 patients who have a positive serology test and either COVID-19 symptoms or a high-risk exposure, which are considered probable cases and not confirmed cases. There are 725,448 patients who have tested negative to date.

In nursing and personal care homes, there are 17,908 resident cases of COVID-19, and 3,339 cases among employees, for a total of 21,247 at 709 distinct facilities in 52 counties. Out of our total deaths, 4,592 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities. A county breakdown can be found here.

Approximately 6,780 of our total cases are in health care workers.
