A Schuylkill County man is facing charges of assault following an incident that occurred about 3:33 a.m. on June 14 in a wooded area off Valley Road in Cass Township.

State police at Frackville said troopers responded to the above stated area for a report of a domestic incident. On scene the victim, a 20-year-old woman from Mohrsville, Berks County, said she was riding with a friend, a 22-year-old man from Schuylkill Haven, in the wooded in her 1994 Chevrolet Blazer when her ex-boyfriend, identified as Blake Deeter, 19, of Orwigsburg, arrived on an all-terrain vehicle.

She said Deeter pulled her from the vehicle by pulling her hair and ripping her shirt. Deeter then began to kick and punch her in the head and midsection. While on the ground, Deeter picked her up and struck her head on the ground.

Troopers did not indicate with the woman required medical attention.

Troopers said a warrant has been issued for Deeter with charges pending.
