Sacred Heart announcements

Sacred Heart Church, 243 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, will resume its regular weekend Mass schedule this weekend following all directives for attendance, sanitation and safe distancing provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Diocese of Allentown. Please call the Rectory Office to reserve your seat(s) for Mass. We currently are limited to 80 worshippers at Mass.

Daily Mass (Monday through Friday) will continue to be celebrated in the Main Church each day at noon with the church remaining open after Mass to 3 p.m. for private prayer.

Father Bill continues to hear Confession by appointment in the Parish Center. Please call the Rectory Office to schedule at: 610-826-2335.

This weekend we celebrate the Solemnity of Corpus Christi (The Body of Christ) in our Liturgies. The Scriptures remind us in the Old Testament how God fed the Israelites with manna on their sojourn through the desert and the New Testament presents Jesus giving us His own body as a perpetual remembrance and presence in the Eucharist to His Church.

We extend congratulations to Eva Schisler who was this year’s recipient of the Knights of Columbus Award for service to her Parish and community. The St. John Neumann students celebrated a virtual graduation this past Monday.

Registration for 2020-2021 School Year at St. John Neumann are being accepted. To register call: 610-826-2354 Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

June 19 we celebrate our Parish Patronal Feast Day beginning with a votive Mass at noon to honor the Sacred Heart of Jesus, followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament until 6 p.m. when we will conclude with evening prayer and benediction.

Please call the Rectory Office at: 610-826-2335 if you will attend Mass or would like to sign up for a period of Adoration from 1 to 6 p.m.

Father Bill continues to ask parishioners and friends to ask God, through the intercession of Father Walter Ciszek (whose cause is being reviewed for possible canonization) to provide a cure for the coronavirus and restore spiritual, emotional, physical and financial health to our global family.
