LV driver charged in fatal bicycle crash

A Lehigh County driver is facing multiple charges, including homicide by vehicle, after his car hit a bicyclist.

State police at Fogelsville said the incident occurred at 8:36 a.m. on Sunday at the intersection of Route 863 and Schantz Road in Upper Macungie Township.

Troopers said Armando Roblero Morales, 32, of Allentown, was driving a 2009 Honda Civic southbound when he failed to stop for two posted stop signs. As a result his vehicle entered the intersection and struck a bicycle operated by Sandro Micocci, 45, of Schnecksville, who suffered fatal injuries.

Roblero Morales and his passenger, Gilder Galdani Diaz Gomez, also of Allentown, were not injured.

Troopers said as the result of an investigation Roblero Morales has been charged with homicide by vehicle, accidents involving death or injury while not properly licensed, recklessly endangering another person, reckless driving, careless driving - causing an unintentional death, drivers required to be licensed, stop signs and yield signs and driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed.

Roblero Morales was arraigned on the charges and committed to the county prison unable to post bail.
