Woman charged with threatening to shoot man

A Weatherly woman has been charged with threatening to shoot a man during an argument over breakfast.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Trooper Ian Martin of the Pennsylvania State Police Hazleton barracks against Cassandra Houser, 39:

At 8:39 a.m. May 24, Martin was dispatched to South Lehigh Gorge Drive in Lehigh Township, Carbon County, for a reported domestic with weapons.

Upon arrival at 8:56 a.m., Martin interviewed Houser, who said that she woke up and had an argument with the victim and she left the house to calm down.

Houser said she returned to the house and retrieved a gun, pointed it at the victim and threatened to shoot him if he did not leave the residence, but that the victim left the household.

The victim told police both parties began to argue over breakfast.

The victim said Houser left the household and about 10 minutes later, returned to the residence and came inside and pointed a loaded gun at him.

The victim said that Houser was yelling at him to leave so he did and contacted state police.

Martin retrieved the Sig Sauer handgun was loaded with a six-round magazine and no bullet was in the chamber.

Houser faces charges of terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person and simple assault.

She is currently incarcerated in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 bail and is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Wednesday before District Judge Joseph D. Homanko Sr of Weatherly.
