Men get into fight over wearing mask in store

A dispute over wearing a mask at a Lehigh County business ended with charges against two customers.

State police at Fogelsville said the incident occurred at 3:14 p.m. on Monday at the CVS store along Route 100 in Lower Macungie Township. The two people involved were identified as Allen Johnson, 53, of Albrightsville, and Michael Kuti, 57, of Macungie.

According to troopers both men were in separate checkout lines at the store when one was asked by an employee to put his face mask on several times. The subject, who troopers did not identify as being either Johnson or Kuti, was asked several times but failed to do so. The other subject then confronted the unmasked customer and a verbal argument took place.

The two continued to argue outside in the parking lot of the store, where the disagreement got physical. One of the men attempted to leave but was blocked from doing so by the unmasked customer. The unmasked customer then damaged the rear wiper blade and license plate of the other’s car.

Both men suffered injuries and were treated at the scene by medical personnel. Troopers said both were charged with harassment, disorderly conduct and one also with criminal mischief.
