Alexis Achey, 18, of Saylorsburg, was charged by state police at Fern Ridge with theft and receiving stolen property after she was caught stealing from the cash register at Dunkin’ Donuts, on Route 209, Brodheadsville, where she had been employed.

Police said they were called there at 5:32 p.m. May 21 when the store manager provided officers surveillance footage of an employee taking $100 from the register.

Police said Achey was interviewed at her residence and admitted taking the money.

She was taken into custody and processed at the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville, and will have to answer the charges at the office of Magisterial District Judge Colleen Mancuso.
