Schuylkill Haven State Police — crashes

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating the following crashes :

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 11:19 p.m. on May 7 along Route 443 in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Robert L. Schuld, 32, of Orwigsburg, was driving a 2006 Saturn Vue southbound when he fell asleep. The vehicle crossed over the northbound lane and onto the berm where it struck a utility pole, cutting the pole in half, before coming to final rest on the east shoulder.

Schuld was not injured but the vehicle was towed. He was cited for the crash.

• A one-vehicle crash happened about 3:16 p.m. on May 10 along Route 895 in South Manheim Township.

Troopers said Glenn G. Kershner, 66, of Auburn, was driving a 2006 Subaru Forester eastbound when the vehicle went off the road and struck a utility pole, then slid and struck a tree before coming to rest off the south side of the road.

Kershner was not injured. He was cited for the crash.

• Darryl J. Adams, 52, of Myerstown, was injured in a crash involving a motorcycle he was operating at 5:09 p.m. May 17 on Route 183 in Wayne Township.

Police said he was driving a 1999 Harley-Davidson southbound on Route 183 when it struck the rear of a 2016 Ford Edge that was traveling in front of the cycle and being operated by Donald R. Bercaw, 49, of Sellersville. Police said the Edge was negotiating a left curve in the roadway and then cycle struck it.

Police said Adams was thrown from the cycle and rolled about 40 feet, coming to rest on the shoulder of the road. The motorcycle fell to its side and slid about 50 feet before coming to a halt.

Police said Adams was cited for the crash.

Adams had minor injuries. Neither Bercaw nor his passenger, June Santella, 68, also of Sellersville, were injured.

Police said the Edge and the cycle were both driven from the scene.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 6:52 p.m. on May 18 along Route 61 in Norwegian Township. Troopers said Nathaniel W. Nichols, 38, of New Philadelphia, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Impala southbound and approaching a traffic control device at the intersection with Tunnel Road. Troopers said Nichols was traveling at a unsafe speed which caused him to lose control of the vehicle. The Impala impacted with curb on the right shoulder of the road where it came to rest.

Nichols was not injured. He was cited for the crash.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 10:31 a.m. on May 22 along Route 443, at the intersection with 2 1/2 Mile Road, in Pine Grove Township. Troopers said Emily M. Stuck, 21, of Minersville, was driving a 2009 Hyundai Elantra eastbound and attempted to make a left turn onto 2 1/2 Mile Road when her vehicle struck a 1997 Chevrolet Lumina driven by Lavina R. Baltozer, 21, of Pitman.

Stuck and her three passengers and Baltozer were all not injured.

Stuck was cited for the crash.
