Lehighton state police report on crashes

State police at Lehighton reported investigating the following crashes:

• A hit-and-run was reported on May 20 at 2:18 p.m. along Route 248 in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Troopers said a vehicle was driven westbound in the left lane behind a 2016 Hyundai Elantra driven by Krysten M. Stein, 19, of Palmerton. The other driver then attempted to pass Stein and entered the right lane and struck the Elantra. After impact both vehicles continued westbound. The hit-and-run vehicle is believed to be a red Honda CR-V.

Stein and her three passengers were all not injured.

• Another hit-and-run crash was reported on May 21 at 3:11 p.m. at the intersection of Forest Inn and Interchange roads, in Towamensing Township, Carbon County.

Troopers said a vehicle with Ronald Roberts and Tina Roberts, of Saylorsburg, came to a stop when a vehicle in front attempted to turn onto Forest Inn Road. The Roberts’ vehicle was struck in the rear by another driver who fled the scene. The hit-and-run vehicle is possibly a silver in color Mitsubishi Lancer. No injuries were reported.

• A three-vehicle crash was reported on May 21 at 8:23 a.m. along Route 248 in Palmerton, Carbon County. Troopers said Alexis K. Brittain, 25, of Lehighton, was driving a 2014 Dodge Avenger westbound when her vehicle struck a small boulder and debris on the road. The boulder then rolled and bounced off the road where it was then struck by a 2016 Freightliner truck operated by David R. Keiser, 41, of Lehighton, and a 2007 Pontiac G5 driven by Larry B. Frederick, 74, of Danielsville, who were traveling behind Brittain.

No one was injured. The Dodge and Pontiac were towed and the truck had minor damages.
