Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Bowmanstown is holding drive-in worship services each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Worshippers are asked to remain in their vehicles and tune to FM 104.3 to hear the service. You can also check it out on the church Facebook page to see the latest videos, inspirational songs, songs by individuals and the Sounds of Faith Band. St. John’s Lutheran

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton, has begun its summer worship hours. The drive-in worship service on Sunday will begin at 9:30 a.m. Pastor Jody will lead the service through an amplification system in the parking lot so all can hear. Come and join in the service.

Curbside funnel cakes

Curbside funnel cake night hosted by the Parryville Fire Company #2, 359 Main St., Parryville, will be held on Saturday from 5-8 p.m. (note the time change). Will be serving one size funnel cake, Zimmies and bottled water. Cash only. Message the company or call at 610-852-2350 for large orders. Otherwise pull up and they will make your funnel cake.

Palmerton Borough

Effective May 26, the Borough Hall and Police Station lobby areas will be open to the public for borough and police department business. Anyone entering the building will be required to wear a mask and follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Department of Health guidelines for social distancing. As a reminder, payments are due in the in the Borough Office by 4:40 p.m. this Friday. For your safety they encourage the use of the payment box or mail your payment to Palmerton Borough, 443 Delaware Ave., Palmerton, PA 18071. The borough phone number is 610-826-2505.

Street sweeping

The street sweeping schedule will not resume until more of the residents return to work. Currently, with people being at home, many streets are parked full and they recognize that it may be difficult for residents to find a place to move their cars.

Zinc City Cycle Club

Although Carbon County is in yellow phase, spectator sports activities are currently not permitted. The club will be postponing the first drag race which was scheduled for June 6. Keep watching the club’s Facebook page for updated information.

Palmerton tax collector

The Palmerton Tax Collector, Lisa Nemeth, will be accepting payments for the remainder of 2020, by mail and payment box only at: 821 First St., Palmerton, PA 18071. There will be no appointments or office hours at her residence/place of business or the Borough Hall, for the remainder of 2020.

Jerusalem UCC

Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville, will again livestream on Facebook beginning at 11 a.m. on Sunday morning. If you cannot view at that time, the recordings are available afterward to view on the website or on Facebook.
