Nesquehoning couple given probation for harassment

A Lansford couple, convicted at a nonjury trial of harassing their neighbor, was placed on probation on Tuesday morning in Carbon County court.

Christopher Martin, 58, and Lisa Martin, 59, were both placed on probation for six months by President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.

The two were convicted by Nanovic following a nonjury trial held Feb. 7 of harassment as a misdemeanor 3.

The two were charged by Nesquehoning police with harassing their female neighbor.

The victim was present at the proceeding and told Nanovic she wanted the Martins to “just leave me alone.”

The couple claimed that the victim has harassed them. Testimony at the trial indicated the dispute has been ongoing for about three years.

Nanovic also ordered the couple to have no contact with the victim in any way, pay court costs of about $1,000 and pay a $50 per month supervision fee each.
