Carbon County court — guilty pleas
A total of seven defendants in pending criminal cases entered guilty pleas on Thursday in Carbon County court.
Judge Steven R. Serfass accepted the pleas from the following:
Lansford incident
Cassandra Lombardi,
21, of Lansford, pleaded to two counts of harassment, as summary offenses, for an incident on Dec. 27, 2019, when borough police said she assaulted two juveniles, one her relative. In exchange for the plea the district attorney’s office agreed to drop a felony 2 strangulation charge and two misdemeanor 2 simple assault counts. It was noted the victims agreed to the plea deal.
Serfass imposed a fine of $300 on each count.
Felicia Ann Bower,
31, of Nesquehoning, pleaded to one count of disorderly conduct, as a summary offense, for an incident on Aug. 24, 2018, filed by Nesquehoning police as a result of a domestic incident. In exchange for the plea the DA’s office dropped two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Serfass imposed a fine of $300.
Tammy L. Creveling,
50, of Palmerton, pleaded to one count of persistent disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor 3, in exchange for charges of resisting arrest, flight to avoid apprehension, defiant trespass and criminal mischief being dropped by the DA’s office. She was charged on Dec. 3, 2019, by Lansford police, after they responded to an unwanted person report.
Serfass sentenced her to time-served (11 days) to six months in jail and ordered her to render 25 hours of community service.
Kieran Patrick Igielski,
20, of Lansford, pleaded to one count each of persistent disorderly conduct and a summary offense of public drunkenness. He was originally charged with eight counts including criminal trespass, defiant trespass and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was charged for an incident on Feb 21 filed by Lansford police.
On the conduct charge he was sentenced to time-served (27 days) to 12 months in jail and on the summary offense a fine of $500. He was also ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and render 50 hours of community service.
Carmela Koval,
41, of Lansford, pleaded to one count of disorderly conduct, a summary offense, in exchange for two counts each of simple assault and harassment being dropped.
She was charged on Dec. 27, 2019, by Lansford police for an incident involving two juveniles as the victims.
Serfass imposed a fine of $300.
Richard L. Bower Jr.,
32, of Lansford, pleaded to one count of harassment, a summary offense, in exchange for a simple assault charge being dropped. He was charged on Oct. 16, 2019, by Lansford police following a domestic incident. The victim, his wife, suffered injuries that required medical attention.
Serfass imposed a fine of $300 and ordered he make restitution for medical expenses of $356.60.
David S. Holtzer,
47, of Palmerton, pleaded to one count of disorderly conduct, as a summary offense, in exchange of charges of theft of lost property and criminal conspiracy - theft of lost property.
He was charged on April 24, 2019, by Mahoning Township police for his part in taking possession of a purse mislaid.
He was fined $300.
Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation/parole.
