Eggs for sale Sunday at the DeHaven tree farm

Lori Schuttert Bruce and the DeHaven Tree Farm are selling eggs from the Zimmerman’s farm in Kempton at the Dehaven Christmas Tree Farm, 151 Dehavens Lane, Saylorsburg. The sale of eggs is helping the Zimmerman so they don’t have to reduce the amount of chickens they have, as well as destroy the eggs they have collected.

Eggs are being sold for $2 per dozen, with a minimum of 5 dozen or $10. Volunteers raised money for 400 dozen eggs to be distributed at the West End Food pantry.

Toni Drake and other volunteers set up a gofundme account to purchase 400 dozen for the West End Food Pantry for their next distribution on June 6. Drake said the food pantry may get eggs once or twice a year.

“In this time of uncertainty, I would love to be able to help those that have been affected by COVID-19 as I have been fortunate to have kept working. This would also mean that those less fortunate would get a great source of protein, as well as something we all like to keep in our refrigerator but might not be able to afford or get at the grocery store during these times,” Drake said.
