Schuylkill Haven state police — arrests

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on the following arrests made by troopers.

• Troopers are seeking a Tower City resident after he threatened to shoot two people in a custody dispute. The threats were made through Facebook messenger.

Troopers said John Lee, 30, made the threats on May 17, between 3 and 3:10 p.m. In addition to threatening the victims, a 31-year-old male and a 28-year-old female, both from the village of Donaldson, Frailey Township, he showed he had the means to do so by sending a video of himself shooting a M249 machine gun. Charges of terroristic threats were filed and an arrest warrant issued for Lee.

• A Pottsville man is facing charges of theft.

Troopers said in May 2017 Charles Rubright, 22, offered to do roof work for a 62-year-old man from Auburn. Rubright requested half of the payment up front, and the victim gave him $5,500. Rubright never did the work and did not respond to calls, texts, emails and a certified letter.

In 2019, the victim ran into Rubright and requested a refund due to the work not being done. Rubright told the victim he did not have the money. On May 14, charges of fraudulent/deceptive business practices and theft by deception were filed against Rubright.

• A 66-year-old male from Moon Hill Road in Wayne Township, has been charged following an incident on May 15 at about 3:04 p.m. Troopers said a 30-year-old male from Hazle Township, Luzerne County, a Amazon delivery person, arrived at the home of the suspect to deliver packages. The suspect opened his back door at which time his two dogs attacked the victim.

The suspect, who troopers declined to identify, was charged with confinement of dogs.

• A 37-year-old female from Minersville is facing charges following an incident that occurred on May 16 about 7:55-8:05 a.m. at a residence along Lake Street in North Manheim Township.

Troopers said the suspect, who they declined to identify, broke the right break light on the 2000 Jeep of a 35-year-old male from Port Carbon, and then poured a substance on the vehicle causing minor damages.

The suspect was charged with criminal mischief.
