State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a lost purse and gun.

Troopers said at 3 p.m. May 12 a resident reported during a roadside car maintenance she lost her purse on a gravel lot off Rock Road at Route 895 in Washington Township. The purse is brown and rectangular with no identifying marks on it.

The woman said the purse contained a black Smith & Wesson 9 mm pistol, Social Security cards, credit cards and driver’s license.
