2 charged after fight breaks out over horse droppings

Two people were cited following a fight in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said on May 14 at 2:52 p.m. troopers responded to the 300 block of Valley Street in Brockton, Schuylkill Township, for a report of a physical altercation between two men. An investigation revealed that a physical altercation started when William Kellett, 59, of Brockton, was riding a horse and the horse defecated on the street in front of other men, including the property owner Joseph Leskin, 59, of Brockton. Leskin began yelling at Kellett on the horse and brief argument ensued.

Kellett began cleaning up the feces and was taking the fecal matter to a nearby field to dump. Leskin followed Kellett and the horse by getting on his Kubota four-wheeler and driving to him.

The two began fighting. Kellett was attempting to hold his horse and dog in his hand when the fight broke out. Leskin struck Kellett in the face and they went to the ground. Kellett suffered a cut to the neck and a swollen eye. Leskin had abrasion on his hand/wrist.
