State police at Lehighton are investigating a burglary at an abandoned Carbon County church.

Troopers said the break-in occurred at 3850 Fireline Road in Lower Towamensing Township. Troopers were called to the scene about 2:56 p.m. on May 15.

A neighbor told troopers she saw three males and two females leave an abandoned church. She said she saw the trespassers drop a instrument that they had taken and flee in a silver sedan.
