Fire companies from numerous Lehigh County communities are on scene of a rescue along the Appalachian Trail. The incident began about 5 p.m. when it was reported of a female hiker suffering an ankle injury along the “White” trail.

The victim was reported to be somewhere between the Bake Oven Knob and Route 309 parking lots in the area of a power line. The woman has been located and treated for her injury and is now being brought out to the Route 309 command center to an awaiting ambulance.
