Lansford man faces indecent exposure, assault charges

A Lansford man faces charges of indecent exposure and assault after he engaged in unwanted behavior with another man.

According to an affidavit filed by Lansford police, on March 31, officers were called to the Lansford Mid-Rise apartments.

The caller said Richly Ivory-Coate, 37, of East Bertsch Street, and he had a strange encounter while he was waiting for the elevator.

It was reported that the victim said while he was waiting, Ivory-Coate bumped into him and then he felt Ivory-Coate attempt to pull his pants down.

The victim told police Ivory-Coate then stuck his hand down the victim’s pants and grabbed his butt.

As the victim turned around, he noticed that Ivory-Coate was touching himself.

Police spoke with Ivory-Coate and he admitted grabbing the victim by the back of the pants, but said it was because he had hit him with a cart and he felt threatened.

When asked about why he was playing with himself during the incident, he said that when he gets nervous he has an involuntary impulse to fondle himself.

He faces other charges of simple assault and harassment and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing before District Judge Casimir Kosciolek on June 17.
