The coronavirus is something that affects all of us, hence the phrase “We are all in this Together.”

While it’s become essential to communicate that message verbally, the Times News Media Group has adopted a concept to spread the message visually.

That would be in the form of the “We are ALL in this TOGETHER” yard signs, according to Jen Benninger, advertising director, Times News Media Group.

Benninger said there are versions of the signs for Lehighton, Tamaqua, Palmerton and Panther Valley/Jim Thorpe. Each of the free yard signs has four different sponsors, for a total of 16 sponsors.

She said the signs are currently available at the Times News Mahoning Valley office (vestibule), as well as at Kovatch Sales & Service on First Street in Lehighton while supplies last.

Benninger said the idea for the yard signs stemmed from a roundtable Zoom meeting put together by the PNA about a month ago that included advertising directors from various papers.

“It talked about the state of things, about the different ideas that different newspapers were doing for the community, and this was about yard signs, “We’re ALL in this TOGETHER,” Benninger said. “I liked the idea and got four sponsors for the yard signs.”

Benninger said the yard signs are currently out in Lehighton and Tamaqua, and that they are expected to be out by the end of the week in Palmerton and Panther Valley/Jim Thorpe.

“They are available to the public free of charge thanks to our sponsors,” she said. “Every time I get a new set of signs, we are in contact with the sponsors to see if they want to be a distribution point that people can come and pick up.”

Benninger added, “We’re spreading the word via our Facebook page, and what they are and where they can be.

“I feel during rough times especially, that communities come together and support each other, so that’s what this is all about; We’re All In This Together, The Times News Media Group, we’re trying to support people.

“If they see the signs, that might make them feel better,” she said. “In times of crisis, people come together.”
