• Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, the Weatherly Area High School Alumni Association

is canceling its annual Memorial Day dinner and general membership meeting that was to be held May 25.

• The upcoming May meeting of the Carbon County Art League

, held every second Wednesday of the month, has been canceled. Based on continuing recommendations for social distancing, the monthly workshops and artist presentations will not be available as scheduled, postponed until it is safe to do so.

The Carbon County Art League is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports local artists of all ages, working in all mediums. • The Trinity Food Pantry

, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, adjacent to the church, remains open during Tuesday hours, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., as a drive-up setting. Residents in need residing in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive prepackaged supplemental food items. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pick up. In addition, the Thrift Store shall remain closed and no clothing or household donations are being accepted at this time.
