A look back: April 24, 1984

The Carbon County Conservation District announced plans to recognize James Remaley of Lehighton, a former board member, at its annual dinner meeting to be held at Trainer’s Inn, Franklin Township.

Remaley had a long and enviable period of service in conservation, having been the district’s first associate member before his appointment to the regular board.

A retired proprietor of Remaley Medical Laboratories, Lehighton, he was a prime mover in many worthwhile conservation practices in the county, including conservation practices associated with the Baer Memorial Park, where its lower extremities provide flood protection from the Mahoning Creek.
