Blue Mtn. to light up Friday to support seniors, front line workers

Blue Mountain Resort is participating in the “Porch Light Campaign” in conjunction with 40 local schools to show support for 2020 graduating seniors, nurses, doctors and first responders on the front lines of COVID-19.

As part of that, Blue Mountain will be turning the lights back on across the mountain from 7-9 p.m. Friday to help show its support.

With around 1,000 400 watt high pressure sodium lights, Blue Mountain is visible for miles across the Lehigh Valley and Pocono Mountains.

Typically, the mountain is lit from the start of snow-making in fall until the last day of the season.

When the lights are turned on in fall, it is a “famous” sign around the area that Winter is on its way.

This time, Blue Mountain hopes the lights show that it’s proud of all the 2020 graduating seniors, and thankful for at the health care heroes.
