Kenneth Berger, 44, of Jim Thorpe, was charged by state police at Fern Ridge on charges of strangulation, simple assault and harassment after an incident at 3:38 p.m. April 3 on Byron Lane in Penn Forest Township.

The victim is a 42-year-old woman who reported that following a brief argument, Berger grabbed her around the neck and strangled her.
