A West Hazleton man died Thursday due to a motorcycle accident.

According to the state police in Hazleton, Ricardo J. Ortiz, 39, was pronounced dead at 5:22 p.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest due to closed head Injuries from the crash. The crash occurred about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on Spring Mountain Road about a half mile from state Route 93 in Banks Township, Carbon County. Police said he collided with a deer.
