Schuylkill Haven police report thefts

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks reported the following thefts and other incidents:

• Police are investigating the theft of about $1,000 worth of tools and equipment from a cargo container that was located at 1439 Centre Turnpike, West Brunswick Township.

The victim is Supreme Industrie of Harwinton, Connecticut.

• Police said someone took a Stihl weedwacker valued at $450, weedwacker accessories worth $300 and various hand tools valued at $150 between 4 p.m. March 20 and 9 a.m. March 25.

• A U-Haul trailer that was reported stolen in Worcester, Massachusetts, was recovered on the property of Miners Auto Sales, 2881 Pottsville-Minersville Highway, Branch Township, at 9 a.m. March 9.

Police said it is owned by the U-Haul company of Jackson, Mississippi.

Police said it was left on the local property sometime between March 3-9.

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a theft incident in which over $3,000 in power tools were stolen.

Troopers said Dolittle Construction of Watsontown, Northumberland County, reported on March 19, about 4:01 a.m., that power tools valued at $3,400 were removed from a unlocked construction trailer parked along Sculps Hill Road in West Brunswick Township, Schuylkill County. Troopers said two males, driving a dark colored Jeep SUV, arrived at the scene and moved the tools.

The owner of two bicycles that were found in Schuylkill County are being sought.

State police at Frackville said the two bikes were found along Fox Run Road at Pine Valley Road in East Brunswick Township on March 5. The bikes were found laying in nearby woods.

Anyone with information concerning the bikes is asked to call troopers at 570-874-5300.

A handgun that was found by a landlord who believes it belongs to an ex-tenant of his residence in West Brunswick Township was turned over to state police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks.

Police said the landlord found the 676 Taurus/Rossi 357 Magnum revolver and 38 special cartridges at the residence at 200 Lehigh Ave. at 3:44 p.m. March 16. Police said they are trying to determine who owns the firearm and why it was left behind.

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating the following incidents.

Troopers said Omnova Solutions, of 95 Hickory Drive, Auburn, West Brunswick Township, reported the theft of two electric banders from their site. The banders were taken sometime between March 3 and 25. Value of the missing items is $5,000.

Troopers are also probing an incident off Schwartz Valley Road in Wayne Township. A 48-year-old male from Schuylkill Haven, reported someone drove a all terrain vehicle on his property causing ruts in a grass field. The incident occurred sometime overnight of March 25-26.
