Frackville state police report crashes

State police at Frackville reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers:

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 2:52 p.m. on March 23 along Route 443 in East Brunswick Township. Troopers said Brianna M. Smith, 23, of Tamaqua, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo eastbound when she lost control of the vehicle going around a left curve. The vehicle went onto the berm and then rolled over onto its roof.

Smith was not injured but the vehicle was towed.

She was cited for driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed.

• A crash was reported on March 27 at 1:34 p.m. along Route 61 in New Castle Township. William M. Whalen, 19, of Cumbola, was driving a 2009 Toyota Camry southbound and attempting to pass another vehicle when he lost control with his car, striking the guide rail along the berm. Whalen was not injured but the vehicle was towed. Troopers cited Whalen for the crash.

• A crash occurred at 10:27 p.m. on March 27 along Route 924 in East Union Township. Steven M. Boehmer, 24, of Shenandoah, was driving a 2012 GMC Terrain southbound when a deer entered the road in front of him. He was unable to stop his vehicle and struck the deer with the front end. Boehmer was not injured.
