Arrests reported

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on the following arrests made by troopers at Schuylkill County locations.

On March 14 at 6:09 p.m. troopers responded to a residence along Peach Mountain Road in Norwegian Township. On scene it was determined that a 54-year-old man from Sinking Springs, Berks County, fired two rounds from a gun at the residence of a 62-year-old man from Pottsville. One bullet struck the victim’s truck and the other struck a garage. Damages were estimated at $500 to the truck. Criminal charges will be filed against the 54-year-old man, who troopers declined to identify.

On March 14 at 9:33 p.m. troopers responded to a residence along Summer Hill Road, in South Manheim Township. Troopers sad Allen Johns, 63, and a 30-year-old man, both of Auburn, engaged in a verbal argument. During the argument Johns retrieved a firearm and fired a shot from it at a wall in an attempt to scare the victim so that he would leave the house.

Johns was charged with terroristic threats.

Abel Degler, 32, of Pine Grove, was charged with harassment - physical contact - for an incident on March 14 at 1:22 a.m. Troopers said Degler returned to his residence along Pleasant Valley Road in Pine Grove Township from a bar and discovered the victim, a 27-year-old woman, removing her items from the residence. An argument ensued during which Degler grabbed and pushed the victim. Charges were filed.

On March 16 at 10:52 p.m. troopers were dispatched to the 400 block of Meadow Drive, South Manheim Township, for the report of a man yelling and “flopping” around the shoulder of the road. On scene troopers found Steven Rhoades, 29, of Womelsdorf, Berks County. He was taken into custody and told troopers he had taken methamphetamine. He was transported to a hospital for evaluation. He was charged with public drunkenness.

On Wednesday at 6:28 a.m. troopers responded to a residence along First Street in Port Carbon for a terroristic threats/simple assault case. Troopers said a 37-year-old woman from Port Carbon threatened to use a knife to a 26-year-old man from New Ringgold. Troopers declined to identify the woman.
