Man sentenced to 20 to 40 years in sex case

A Pottsville man will spend 20 to 40 years in state prison for involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child in 2018, in a decision by Schuylkill County Judge Jacqueline Russell on March 24.

William J. Strimboulis Jr., 50, was arrested by Pottsville Police on May 14, 2018. Russell sentenced him to 10 to 20 years on each of two counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, with the terms to run consecutively. He will be classified as a Tier III sexual offender with Megan’s Law registration requirements for his lifetime. He will be on probation for three years and may have no contact with his victim.

Assistant District Attorney Mike Stine prosecuted the case. Public defender Andrea Thompson represented Strimboulis.
