Local restaurants donate lunch to Boyer’s stores

It’s a stressful time to work in retail or hospitality. The Tamaqua community knows that.

A group of local restaurants came together on Friday to provide a free lunch delivery to local grocery stores as a thank-you for their service to our communities.

“A strong local grocery network is not only pivotal to the restaurant and hospitality industry, but it is an essential component of our communities,” said Conrad Flynn in a news release, who was a key cog in coordinating the event.

“In recognition of their valued service to our local restaurants over the years, and their unwavering commitment to serving our families during this time of need, we’re teaming together to offer a small token of our thanks and appreciation.”

Basile’s Italian Delight, Two Kings Pizzeria, La Dolce Casa, Luigi’s Brick Oven Pizza, all of Tamaqua, and Marco’s Pizza of Lansford, teamed up to do a “pizza bomb” free lunch for the local Boyer’s Food Markets in Lansford, Tamaqua and McAdoo.

A group of restaurants in the area plan to do more food donations in the near future.
