Nesquehoning police log

Nesquehoning police released the following charges and citations over the last few weeks.

Drug charges

• Shaira Marie Velazquez-Rosario, 19, of Jefferson Court, New Tripoli, was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after a vehicle she was a passenger in was stopped by Nesquehoning police.

On Feb. 24, police observed a Hyundai fail to stop at a posted stop sign near the three-point intersection in the borough. A traffic stop was conducted and police spoke with Jermayne Butcher and Velazquez-Rosario, observing the smell of marijuana. Velazquez-Rosario handed over two prepackaged bags of marijuana and admitted it was hers.

Butcher was also cited for failing to stop at a stop sign and driving while his license is suspended.

Traffic citations

• Kyle Alexander Feaser of Gardners, was cited on Feb. 16 following multiple complaints along Industrial Road and Park Avenue. Citations include driving while his driver’s license is suspended, not have proper registration or certification of title, operating a vehicle without a certificate of inspection and not having vehicle insurance.

• Edward Leymeister of Jim Thorpe and Patricia Maiden were cited on March 1 following a traffic stop. Leymeister was cited for driving with an expired inspection, not having a valid driver’s license and driving while license is suspended. Maiden was cited for allowing an unauthorized person to drive.

• Nesquehoning police also filed one citation each for driving without a valid license, operating an unregistered vehicle and careless driving; and two citations for speeding.
