Lehighton residents charged with possessing, selling fentanyl

Two Lehighton residents have been charged with possessing and selling fentanyl.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by patrolman Gabe Szozda of the Lehighton Borough Police Department:

On March 12 as part of an ongoing investigation into heroin/fentanyl distribution in Carbon County, police got information that Anthony Pudvah, 30, and Rebecca Walck, 21, both of Lehighton, were selling fentanyl in Palmerton.

Surveillance was set up in an area in the 200 block of Harvard Avenue.

At 9:50 p.m. Pudvah and Walck were spotted and were taken into custody without incident.

Pudvah told Szozda he had narcotics in his left sweatshirt pocket, and during a search incident to his arrest, he was found to possess 438 white glassine packets containing powdery substance; two hypodermic needles; one red bottle cap with residue; and $320.

During a search incident to Walck’s arrest, police found four white glassine bags containing powdery substance in her bra.

Pudvah said he purchased about 30 to 40 bricks per week from his source in Hazleton, and sells it to between 12 and 15 people in the Carbon County area.

Walck said that day she and Pudvah went up to Hazleton and purchased 10 bricks of fentanyl, and that she and Pudvah intended to sell about seven bricks and would use the remaining three for personal use.

Due to potential officer safety issues, the suspected fentanyl was not tested, and was forwarded to the State Police Forensic Laboratory for future analysis.

Both face charges of unlawful delivery or manufacture of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both are currently incarcerated in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 straight bail each.
