Trash collecting

It has been determined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that the COVID-19 can remain viable for hours to days on a variety of waste materials thrown out to be collected. Effective March 30, the trash hauler is requiring that all waste be bagged using 30-32 gallon trash bags in order to be collected. Also acceptable is trash in 13-gallon bags while in a container. Loose trash will not be collected. If residents are using containers, all trash must still be bagged in the container to be collected. This process does not include recycling. Grocery bags with trash are a big problem as they tend to break open easily and are not allowed. This is for the protection of the trash hauler’s employees as well as residents. If you have any questions, please call the Borough Office at 610-826-2505.
