Cancellations and announcements for March 24, 2020

• The Franklin Township Board of Supervisors

meeting for tonight has been canceled.

• The pie and candy sale sponsored by the Culinary Crew at Zion Lutheran Church

in Tamaqua has been canceled.

• Slatington Borough

has announced that County Waste will not be picking up any large bulk items in the borough due to the coronavirus. However, regular trash and recycling will continue as normal and will not be affected.

• Schuylkill County Agricultural Museum’s

Plow Day 2020 scheduled for April 18 in Tamaqua has been canceled.

• Beginning today, Zion Lutheran Church

in Tamaqua will offer a 10-minute morning prayer livestreamed video on its Facebook page and website weekdays at 9 a.m.

The Rev. Cindy White will read a selected Bible verse and offer a brief message or song.

Morning Prayer is meant to help Tamaqua area residents deal with the coronavirus situation requiring people to stay home as much as possible.

Individuals with specific prayer requests can email those requests to Pastor White between 8:30 and 8:55 a.m. each day at zionlutheranrev@gmail.com.

Morning Prayer will be recorded and available on the Zion Facebook page and website (www.ziontamaqua.com).

Zion’s Saturday evening relaxed service at 5:30 p.m. and its Sunday traditional service at 9 a.m. are also live­streamed and recorded for later viewing.
