Carbon County court — ARD

Six first-time offenders were placed in Carbon County’s Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program by Judge Joseph J. Matika.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program, their record is wiped clean. If they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, they would then face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.

Randolph J. Brunson

, 35, of Albrightsville, was placed for a year on a charge of terroristic threats and related counts. He was arrested by Palmerton police on Dec. 25, 2019, along Delaware Avenue. Police responded to a report of an unwanted male, highly intoxicated. The victim was identified as the ex-girlfriend of the defendant.

He was assessed $450 for the cost of the program and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and attend and successfully complete an anger management course.

Summer Leigh Dandrea

, 20, of Northampton, was placed for a year on a charge of access device fraud. She was charged by state police at Lehighton for an Oct. 12, 2019, incident. She used a credit card without permission of the owner, troopers allege.

She was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and have no contact with the victim.

Christopher R. Fehnel

, 25, of Kunkletown, was placed for two years on a charge of criminal mischief. He was charged by state police at Lehighton on Sept. 28, 2019, for an incident at the Blue Mountain Pub in Lower Towamensing Township.

He was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service, make restitution of $3,777, get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment and stay off the pub property. It was noted Fehnel plans to challenge the restitution figure.

Katrina Louise Remaley

, 47, of Northampton, was placed for a year on a charge of forgery. She was charged by state police at Lehighton for an incident involving a female victim from Towamensing Township.

She was assessed $650 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and have no contact with the victim.

David M. Roberts

, 51, of Slatington, was placed for six months on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested on Nov. 14, 2019, by state police at Lehighton along Fireline Road in Lower Towamensing Township following a traffic stop.

He was assessed $450 and ordered to render 25 hours of community service.

Thomas J. Short

, 21, of Jersey City, New Jersey, was placed for six months on a charge of defiant trespass. He was charged by Kidder Township police for an incident on Dec. 7, 2019, along New Birch Street in Lake Harmony.

He was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and render 25 hours of community service.

Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
