Boyer’s

Boyer’s Food Market in Tamaqua announced that new store hours will now be 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Preferred senior citizen shopping hours will be from 7-9 a.m., which is for people 62 and older to safely shop.

Trinity Church

Trinity UCC, 22 Lafayette St., is holding a buffet-style roast beef dinner on Sunday, March 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Take out and delivery is available by calling 570-668-4630.

Friday Lenten fish bake will also continue with takeout and delivery available.

Lewistown Garden Club

The Tuesday, March 24, meeting of the Lewistown Valley Garden Club has been canceled.

Zion Lutheran

Zion Lutheran, Tamaqua, schedule changes:

The Wednesday midweek Lenten services for March 18 and 25 have been canceled.

There will be no public worship service Saturday, March 21, and Sunday, March 22. Pastor Cindy White will be officiating an online worship service both days. Those services can be seen on the Zion Facebook page and website www.ziontamaqua.com). There will be no confirmation classes, adult discussion or Sunday school until further notice.

The Lenten pierogie sale will be held as scheduled. Pick up for pierogies is Sunday, March 22, from noon to 3 p.m.

Diaper Depot will distribute diapers Saturday, March 21, at Zion Lutheran Church, Tamaqua, according to appointment times. Clients arriving early will not be allowed in the church until their appointment time. Clients arriving later than their appointment time will be allowed in as an opportunity permits. Clients needing to change their appointment time or diaper size must do so by Wednesday evening.

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met at the Tamaqua YMCA on Thursday, March 12, with 42 members in attendance. President Melody Weicker opened the meeting with the reading “Our Precious Savior.”

Warm welcomes were extended to returning members Margie Skymba and Doris Yeager. Penny Schlorf was added to the sick list. The group is open to anyone 55 or older, meeting at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the YMCA.

Rush-Ryan Seniors

The Rush-Ryan-Delano Senior Citizens met March 10 at Christ Church, Barnesville with 49 members in attendance. President Robert Neifert opened the meeting with the reading “A Place In My Heart.”

Diane Gould and Doris Yeager were added to the sick list. New member Debbie Kerestus was given a warm welcome. March birthdays of Pat Tracy and Larry Bower were celebrated. Thanks to Pat Tracy, Kim Usalis and Bonnie Kotchmar for supplying the refreshments for the group.

The group is open to anyone 55 and older and meets the second and fourth Tuesday at Christ Church, Barnesville at 1 p.m.

Salvation Army

The Quest blood screening, sponsored by the Tamaqua Rotary that was scheduled for March 21 has been rescheduled to May 2 from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

The Children’s Easter breakfast that was scheduled for March 28 will be rescheduled for a later date.

Bingo canceled

The bingo scheduled for March 29 at the Hometown Fire company will be rescheduled. No date has been announced at this time.
