Times News postpones Kids Closet, book sales

Two Times News Media Group events that were scheduled in the upcoming months have been postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

On Monday, Jennifer Benninger, advertising director, announced that the upcoming Spring/Summer Kids Closet Sale, which was scheduled for March 27-29, has been postponed as a precaution.

“Due to the growing concerns over COVID-19, we have made the decision to postpone the sale to a later date,” Benninger said. “The health and well-being of our consignors, shoppers and workers is our top priority. New dates for the sale are currently being determined and will be announced as soon as possible.

“We understand how much of an asset the Kids Closet Sale is to families in our area,” Jennifer Rowden, marketing director, said. “We are doing everything possible to make the spring sale available when the health of our community is no longer at risk.”

Benninger added that none of the work consignors have done in preparation for the sale will be lost during the delay, so when new dates are secured, everything will still be in place.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Kids Closet Sale via Facebook Messenger, email thekidsclosetsale@ptd.net, or call 610-377-2051 and choose option 7.

In addition, the News In Education Book Sale that was slated for April 30 through May 3 has been postponed until a later time.

Because of the outbreak, effective Tuesday, the Times News is stopping the collection of books and media for the sale.

“We appreciate the support we have received from everyone,” a statement says. “Due to COVID-19 we are taking all precautions to prevent the spread of the virus. Don’t worry, we will be collecting for a 2021 sale next year. Save those books and media.”

Benninger said an announcement will be made once new dates for the sale have been set.
