State police at Fogelsville release reports

State Police at Fogelsville reported the following:

PFA violations

• A Northampton County man is facing a charge of violating a protection from abuse order.

Police said troopers responded to a residence along Evergreen Drive in Lowhill Township, Lehigh County, on Feb. 22 about 1:05 a.m. for a PFA violation. The 31-year-old woman reported the violation. Troopers entered the home and found Kyle Diehl, 31, of Danielsville, hiding inside a closet area. He was taken into custody and charge with indirect criminal contempt.

• A Northampton County man has been charged for violating a Protection From Abuse order in Lowhill Township.

Police said the incident occurred at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hollenbach Road when a 49-year-old man from Easton attempted to make contact via text messaging and a phone call with the victim, a 56-year-old woman from New Tripoli. Police did not name the name.

Crashes

• A Schuylkill County driver was involved in a one-vehicle crash that occurred on Tuesday in Lynn Township, Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said Emily A. Matz, 22, of Delano, was operating a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze northbound on Route 309 when she lost control due to “slick” road conditions, troopers said. The Cruze went onto the berm on the opposite side and struck a tree and boulder. Matz was injured and was treated at the scene by Cetronia ambulance personnel. The Cruze had to be towed.

Matz was cited for driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed.

• A Carbon County driver was involved in a crash in Lehigh County at 8:24 a.m. Feb. 19.

State police at Fogelsville said vehicles operated by Zachary D. Kunkle, 36, of Palmerton, and a 17-year-old male from New Tripoli, impacted along Route 309 in Lynn Township. The teen sustained minor injuries in the crash but did not require immediate medical attention. Kunkle was not injured. Kunkle’s 2014 Chevrolet Silverado was towed.

Troopers also reported on another crash on Feb. 19 at 6:32 a.m. along Route 309 in Lynn Township involving a Schuylkill County driver. Troopers said David A. Bokanavage, 57, of Shenandoah, was driving a 2013 Ford Fiesta when his vehicle struck a deer that entered the road in front of him. Bokanavage was not injured.
