The Jim Thorpe Community Athletic Association will be hosting the Sam Miller Field Ice Rink Dedication from 4 to 5 p.m. Monday.

The dedication will include players from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms Hockey team, as well as local entertainment.

All residents of Carbon County are invited to attend the dedication to meet the players and enjoy the ice rink.

There will be music, dancing, donor and volunteer recognition, and an official dedication/ribbon cutting.

A basket raffle will be held to continue the fundraising efforts to build and improve the ice rink.

The Sam Miller Field was opened thanks to donations from area residents and businesses, as well as corporate funders. The rink opened early this year and provides free ice skating and skate rental to all.

The rink is open to the public, weather permitting.

All are invited and encouraged to attend and welcome the Phantoms players to Jim Thorpe.

Free parking is available adjacent to Sam Miller Field, located at 122 North Ave., Jim Thorpe.
