Weissport selects new secretary

Weissport has selected a candidate to fill the secretary vacancy in the borough.

Last week, two applicants were present to interview with council members in an executive session.

Jennifer Ketchledge and Rachel McCaffrey met with council.

The decision was announced the next day.

Ketchledge, who is a borough native and resident, was chosen and will be formally sworn in at the borough’s next meeting in March. She is the wife of Councilman Thomas Ketchledge.

In other news, the borough’s Chief of Police Matthew Williams presented the borough’s statistical crime data report for Jan. 21 through Feb. 14, which detailed the number of calls to police as well as the number of specific incidents.

Twelve police calls, four traffic citations and four criminal arrests were made during the above range of dates.

Vice President Brenda Leiby discussed issues with the cameras in the park, noting that this is something that would be looked at later this spring.

Thomas Ketchledge reported he is still attempting to contact FEMA for concerns and solutions over flood plains. He expects more to report on this issue next month.
