New officers of the Lansford Democratic Club were installed by state Rep. Thomas McCall of Summit Hill during a program held at the AMVETS Post in Lansford.

The new president, Leonard Alabovitz Jr., a young newcomer to the political scene, accepted the gavel from Dr. John Polumbo, outgoing president.

Joining Alabovitz in heading the club’s 1980 campaign operations will be Polumbo, vice president; Jeanette Coury, secretary; George Demetriades, treasurer; and Michael Zavagansky Jr., sergeant-at-arms.

Special guests in attendance were Peter Turko, state committeeman, Leonard Alabovitz Sr., the new president’s father and former mayor of Summit Hill, and former Nesquehoning Mayor John Nalesnik.
