February 13, 2010 — Panther Valley and Tamaqua both gain four gold medals at the annual Schuylkill League Swimming Championships. The Panthers’ Alexa Follweiler (100 freestyle) and Lauren Cormier (100 breaststroke) both win an individual event and team with Tricia Janowiak and Karoline Vavra for firsts in the 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay. The Blue Raiders’ Ben Tuckett (100 backstroke) and Nate Leibensperger (50 breaststroke) earn individual gold and join Ricky Clemson and Dane DeWire to win the 200 medley relay. Tamaqua also gains another first from Chey Bates in the girls 50 backstroke.
