A Carbon County man pleaded guilty on Monday in the county court to charges of resisting arrest and false identification to law enforcement charges.

, 36, of Palmerton, entered the pleas before Judge Joseph J. Matika.

He was arrested on Dec. 13, 2019, by Palmerton police in the area of 400 Lehigh Ave. Police responded to a suspicious person report and found Treese the person involved. At the scene he gave a false name to officers. A charge of flight to avoid apprehension was dropped in a plea deal with the district attorney’s office.

Treese is currently an inmate in the county prison on the charges.

Matika sentenced him to time-served (39 days) to 18 months in prison on each count and ran the terms concurrently. He was also ordered to render 75 hours of community service when paroled, pay court costs of about $1,000 and pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole.

Treese will be paroled on the Carbon charges but will be turned over to Bucks County officials who have a detainer on him in an unrelated matter.

Credit card theft

Tammy Lynn Jankowski

, 41, of Palmerton, pleaded to one count each of identity theft and receiving stolen property.

She was arrested by Palmerton police for taking a prepaid credit card of a borough resident and using it without their permission.

She was originally charged with eight counts including access device fraud, criminal conspiracy counts and theft charges. All were dropped except for the two she pleaded to in a deal with the DA’s office.

It was noted she is currently on probation in Berks County on a theft by deception charge.

Matika placed her on probation for two years on each count, running concurrently, and ordered her to make restitution of $1,123.21 to the victim (a relative of Jankowski), supply a DNA sample and render 100 hours of community service.

The term runs concurrent with Berks County.

Jankowski must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole or probation.
