A look back: Jan. 21, 1977

Thomas E. Miller of Summit Hill was named president of the Panther Valley Chamber of Commerce at elections held Thursday night, and was immediately seated with his officers for 1977.

They included Ted Puschak of Coaldale, first vice president; Edward Michalik of Summit Hill, second vice president; John Kovatch of Nesquehoning, third vice president; Cary Sinclair of Lansford, secretary; and Richard Swarcheck of Summit Hill, treasurer.

Miller, who served four terms, 16 years, as a Summit Hill councilman, also serves as chairman of the Republican Club for four terms and president of the Summit Hill Community Improvement Organization.
