The Slatedale Fire Department was on the scene of a barn fire on Lovers Lane in Washington Township Thursday. The fire broke out just before 11 a.m. in the barn with an attached shed.

In addition to Slatedale, volunteer firefighters were dispatched from neighboring towns including Slatington, Orefield, Friedens, Emerald, Walnutport, Schnecksville, Germansville and Neffs.
