It was a tough day for area wrestling teams on Tuesday as Palmerton, Northern Lehigh and Northwestern all lost.

WRESTLING

Bangor-Palmerton

Alex Klaver’s pin at 152 clinched a 36-31 Colonial League victory for Bangor over Palmerton.

The Blue Bombers (0-5) received falls from Chris Lucykanish at 195 pounds, Aaron Gardner at 113, and Dennis Lombardi at 132.

Daniel Lucykanish added a major at 126.

The Bulldogs’ only win in bouts wrestled came at 145 pounds from Trevor Amorim, who posted a 10-6 decision.

Skyler Searfoss had 20 points to lead Jim Thorpe to a 67-13 non-league victory over Saucon Valley on Monday.

Searfoss was a perfect 8-of-8 from the floor and added five steals.

The Olympians (10-1), who had 11 different players hit the scoring column, also received 14 points from Leila Hurley.
